Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the installation process for an epoxy floor?
The installation process for an epoxy floor starts with cleaning and inspection. Your existing concrete will be thoroughly cleaned and then inspected for any damage. Any damage that is present, such as cracking, chipping, or pitting, will need to be repaired first. Following the repairs, your floor will be resurfaced with a floor grinder fitted with a diamond grinding wheel. This is to ensure that the epoxy adheres properly to the concrete. Once the resurfacing step is complete, the concrete will be cleaned again to remove any excess dust and debris leftover from the grinding. Now, we can apply the epoxy resin. The epoxy is mixed and coated over the concrete using specialized tools. Lastly, the epoxy will need to cure before it can be used. The full time that an epoxy floor needs to cure is 72 hours.
How much does an epoxy floor cost?
Several factors go into figuring the cost of an epoxy floor. The size of the space, the type of epoxy being used, and the complexity of the pattern. In most cases, smaller spaces will cost more per square foot than coating a larger floor. On average, a basic epoxy floor will cost between $3 and $7 per square foot.
